Volcan Baru in the Chiriqui province of western Panama, this mountain dominates the surrounding terrain. This is an active stratovolcano From its summit it is possible to see both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans at the same time on a really clear day that is. At some 3475 meters altitude it is the Highest Mountain in Panama. This mountain has erupted some four times in the last 1600 years each time evidence shows that it was a pretty violent affair.
